Mediations
Joe Kendall mediates several complex and/or high dollar cases a month, usually for those who know him or for those whom he’s mediated before. He is often asked to mediate a case by a judge.
With decades of legal experience in literally hundreds of jury trials, former Judge Kendall usually evaluates a case for each side, be it good or bad, as quickly as any one. He also has a solid understanding of each side’s issues including risk management, litigation budgets, business politics, and an insurance carrier’s point of view. Most importantly, he understands human nature and how that impacts what drives lawyers, their clients, judges and juries.
If you want the all too typical and ineffectual “coffee and donuts” morning and “deli lunch,” devoid of both interest-based negotiation and meaningful case evaluation, Joe is probably not the right fit for you. However, if you’d like more than a “passenger pigeon” carrying numbers between rooms, call Joe. Even if the case doesn’t settle (and his settlement rate is roughly 80%) you and your client will gather information about the case, your opponent’s viewpoint and get an opinion born of significant courtroom experience about the strengths and weaknesses of your case from a former federal judge who has seen a thing or two. That is truly added value.
