Former Federal Judge and U.S. Sentencing Commissioner Joe Kendall Discusses Federal Sentencing Guidelines
Joe Kendall, a former federal judge, spent three years as a Commissioner on the United States Sentencing Commission. The agency establishes federal sentencing guidelines for federal judges in an effort to promote transparency and reduce sentence disparities. Appointed by President Bill Clinton in 1999, his work involved writing and voting on numerous sentencing matters, primarily in the arena of white collar fraud, corporate governance and compliance. Judge Kendall recently spoke to Fox 4 News about the federal guidelines that determine sentencing for crack cocaine offenders and the changes over the years.
